Rat Park Foundation
Rat Park Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that ran from 2015 to 2019. The organization’s mission was to raise awareness and compassion towards men and women struggling with substance abuse addiction. Rat Park’s name pays homage to the Rat Park experiment conducted by scientist, Bruce Alexander, from the 1970’s.
The organization was founded and spearheaded by Anrea Santos and Gabby Martinez.
Organization’s Successes:
* Raised $3,600 on Indiegogo Campaign
* Invitation by a psychology professor to speak at Chapman University
* Invitation by Facing Addiction to attend the National Opioid Addiction Summit at Paramount Studios
* Speaking at Mission Viejo City Council Events
Events:
* Rat Park Launch Party, a music festival that had 200 attendees
* Barbells For Recovery, a Cross Fit competition that had 30 participants
* Rat Park Summer Festival, a music festival and grilled cheese competition from local restaurants
* Fit For Courage, a 5K Run and Cross Fit competition that had 50 participants and 200 attendees
* Big Monsta, Album Release Party at the Wayfarer
* “The Long Way Back – The Story of Todd ‘Z-Man’ Zalkins” Film Screening
